Summary: The role of Freelance M&E Project Manager (Electrical Bias) involves overseeing and managing day-to-day site operations for a key project, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems within a construction environment. The candidate must possess proven expertise in managing mechanical and electrical services and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate all mechanical and electrical services on site.
  • Oversee the project’s day-to-day activities to ensure timelines, deliverables, and standards are met.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, trades, and internal stakeholders effectively.
  • Implement and maintain the highest standards of health and safety, including dynamic risk assessments and ensuring RAMS are adhered to.
  • Maintain site organisation, cleanliness, and general tidiness, ensuring compliance with company procedures to avoid penalties.
  • Monitor labour resources, including subcontractors, and ensure quality control through regular inspections and snag lists.
  • Manage plant and equipment schedules, maintaining PAT testing records and ensuring all site staff adhere to sign-in/out procedures.
  • Oversee the completion of material requisitions, deliveries, site records, and daywork sheets.
  • Attend and contribute to site progress meetings and report to the assigned Contracts Engineers on programme progress and site issues.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and current regulations, keeping site documentation up to date and correctly filed.
  • Lead the testing, commissioning, and handover processes, including client demonstrations and staff training post-handover.

Key Skills:

  • Strong M&E background with a predominant focus on electrical systems.
  • Demonstrable experience managing M&E projects of similar scope and scale.
  • Excellent understanding of current health & safety legislation and site management practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively liaise with all project stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage project documentation, schedules, and commissioning activities to industry standards.
