Project Manager

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering projects within agreed timescales, target costs and regulatory requirements, whilst ensuring strong commercial, health and safety and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of capital projects, including projects up to £2m.
  • Managing and developing a team of Project Coordinators.
  • Defining project scope and developing effective engineering solutions.
  • Managing procurement, construction, delivery and commissioning.
  • Managing contractors and project costs under NEC conditions of contract.
  • Monitoring programmes and taking action where projects experience delays or cost pressures.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Identifying and managing project risks, including early warning and risk reduction processes.
  • Working with operational, design, commercial and supply chain teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Supporting sustainable and innovative solutions that improve efficiency and reduce carbon impact.
  • Managing project handover, final certification and post-project reviews.
  • Participating in a standby rota.

About You: We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant project management experience delivering high-value capital projects.
  • Experience leading large teams or similar project delivery functions.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery.
  • Experience working with CDM and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Strong commercial awareness across planning, design and construction.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage projects against demanding regulatory, financial and delivery deadlines.
  • Experience within the water, wastewater or utilities sector would be highly relevant.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable.
