Location: Bristol- hybrid working from home options available
Length: 6 months with possible extensions
Rate: 55 to 65 per hour via umbrella company

The Project Manager role is based within our Mission Systems business area. The organisation is a trusted provider of integrated solutions for global defence and security. We have a wide portfolio of best-in-class intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance solutions, communications, and weapons launch and handling solutions across all domains, integrating the best of industry to meet our customers' needs. The Role We're looking for a dynamic and ambitious leader with strong experience and a proven track record in project delivery and project controls. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced- Project Manager to join our team and to take accountability for the design, manufacturing and delivery of equipment for a new-build submarine programme. Experience
Applicants are reviewed on a case-by-case basis but below are attributes which may benefit your application:

  • PMQ or PPQ (desirable) or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a similar role in the defence industry would be an advantage
  • You will be leading a team and responsible for planning, motivation, scheduling, other team collaboration, conflict management, negotiations, appraisals etc. and be accountable for profit/loss, health and safety for a large defence project
  • Upholding of the Babcock principles and a role model
  • Knowledge of the supply chain and sub-contract management
  • Prior experience of bid management, cost estimating and proposal development
  • Prior experience of line management and developing teams
  • Prior experience in a customer facing role
  • Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making
  • Commercially and financially astute, with a challenging mind-set
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external bodies
  • Candidate that is looking to progress onto larger and more complex projects
