Job Description
This role oversees the end-to-end delivery of data, technology, or change initiatives within a banking or financial services environment. You will manage project plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure that all governance, documentation, and delivery activities meet agreed standards and timelines. The position requires strong stakeholder management, structured planning, and the ability to work effectively in Agile or hybrid delivery settings.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end project plan, including milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedule, covering system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and release readiness.
- Drive day-to-day project execution by aligning backlog and plans, maintaining a consistent delivery cadence, and coordinating activities across IHUB and Finance/Risk stakeholders.
- Establish and run project governance, including regular reporting, steering committee updates, and clear tracking of progress, risks, issues, decisions, and actions using RAID practices.
- Manage project scope, change control, and delivery risks to protect agreed timelines and ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate key delivery events such as planning sessions, workshops, and sprint ceremonies, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on outcomes, priorities, and timelines.
- Track delivery status and produce concise updates on progress, risks, issues, and next steps for relevant stakeholders.
- Drive actions to closure by following up on decisions, resolving issues, and ensuring risks are mitigated promptly.
- Ensure all delivery artefacts and project documentation are maintained to agreed standards and meet auditability expectations.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering data, technology, or change initiatives within banking or financial services.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and influence both business and technology teams, as well as senior stakeholders.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with disciplined dependency management and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management.
- Ability to work comfortably in Agile and hybrid delivery environments and coordinate activities across multiple teams and markets.
- Solid project management capability, including ownership of plans, scope, risks, and change control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
