Summary: The role of Project Manager focuses on delivering transformation projects within Children's Services, specifically targeting Children's homes capital programmes and Group Homes for Care Leavers. This position requires managing project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and resource allocation over a 6-month contract. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days remote work. A relevant project management qualification and satisfactory DBS clearance are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver key projects that drive the transformation of services and processes across Children, Families & Lifelong Learning Directorate.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and in line with the Council's transformation objectives.
- Ensure project outputs support and contribute to the programme's objectives in collaboration with the Programme Manager.
- Manage the allocation and utilisation of resources across the project, ensuring effective use of people, finances, and materials to achieve project goals.
- Track project progress, ensuring milestones are met and providing regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on performance, risks, and issues.
- Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact project delivery, implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track.
- Manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their ongoing support and involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and status reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
Key Skills:
- Experience of delivering on Children's homes capital programmes and Group Homes for Care Leavers projects previously.
- Relevant project management qualification (Prince2, APM, MSP) or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading and implementing a range of projects at this level.
- Satisfactory DBS clearance is required for this role.
- Ability and willingness to travel across the county to attend stakeholder meetings.
