Summary: The role of Project Manager 2 involves leading large-scale technology and business transformation initiatives within a corporate enterprise environment. The successful candidate will manage concurrent projects across global teams, ensuring strong governance and delivery of enterprise-wide changes. This position requires expertise in various delivery models, including Agile and Waterfall, and a focus on software implementations and cloud transformations. The role demands strong stakeholder engagement and commercial acumen to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and define large-scale project scope, objectives, and success criteria, supported by comprehensive business cases and delivery plans
- Deliver complex programmes covering software implementation, application modernisation, and cloud migration (on-premise to SaaS/IaaS/PaaS)
- Manage end-to-end delivery, including requirements, design, build, test, deployment, data migration, and cutover
- Drive Agile and hybrid delivery, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination
- Utilise Jira and Confluence to manage delivery, track progress, and maintain clear, auditable project documentation
- Lead security, compliance, and risk remediation initiatives, working closely with InfoSec and governance teams
- Deliver infrastructure and platform initiatives across server, virtualisation (VMware), networking, and cloud environments
- Manage third-party suppliers, contracts, and commercial performance
- Ensure strong stakeholder engagement across corporate functions, including IT, Finance, HR, and Operations
- Balance multiple concurrent projects, maintaining quality, timeline, and budget control
Key Skills:
- Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale programmes within corporate environments, including significant business change
- Demonstrated experience leading corporate-level transformation initiatives, not solely IT delivery
- Strong working knowledge and hands-on use of Jira and Confluence for project delivery and reporting
- Extensive experience operating within Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFU) alongside Waterfall approaches
- Experience managing large, complex, multi-million-pound projects with multiple stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong commercial acumen including budget ownership, cost control, and supplier negotiation
- Experience delivering across:
- Software implementations (ERP, CRM, enterprise platforms)
- Application upgrades and modernisation
