Summary: Synechron is seeking an experienced PMO to support a global Finance Value Stream within a leading financial organization. The role involves overseeing financial and delivery health, managing forecasts, and ensuring accountability among Programme Managers. The position requires three days a week in the Sheffield office and is expected to be a multi-year rolling contract. The Portfolio Lead will also collaborate with Risk Owners and Internal Audit to govern and report on relevant metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning for change portfolios to align with strategy, risk appetite, and future needs
- Ensure accurate management of financial targets, forecasts, and actuals in collaboration with the business
- Manage spend within targets, conduct run rate analysis, and challenge forecast accuracy
- Confirm programme suppliers have appropriate budget interlocks, maintaining overall targets
- Oversee process changes to targets and quarterly tollgates
- Coordinate financial reviews, providing key stakeholder summaries on headcounts, rates, and position changes
- Keep management informed of programme statuses and issues
- Challenge Programme Managers to address issues swiftly and efficiently
Key Skills:
- Proven track record of leadership in programme management roles within the financial services industry, preferably within multinational banks
- Strong understanding of Technology operational management requirements for banks and knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market
- Deep financial and commercial awareness
- Experience in managing significant financial and resource plans, organisational transformation, and project portfolio management
- Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively

Synechron is looking for an experienced PMO to join a leading financial organisation on a long term programme of work, supporting a global Finance Value Stream. The role requires x3 days a week in the Sheffield office and will be on a rolling contract, expected to be multi year. As a key member of the Value Stream leadership team, the Portfolio Lead is responsible for overseeing the financial and delivery health of the Portfolio. This includes proactively tracking and reporting on spend to ensure accountability, maintaining accurate forecasts and holding Programe Managers accountable throughout delivery. The role also involves establishing strong collaboration with Risk Owners and Internal Audit, governing and reporting on metrics relevant to the Value Stream, and supporting the Value Stream Tech Lead with governance, resourcing, and reporting at the Value Stream level.
