The Role

As Project HSE Manager, you will act as the HSE focal point for the project, providing leadership, advice and coordination across the project team while ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation, CDM requirements, company standards and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Project HSE Management System throughout the EPIC phases.
  • Act as the primary HSE focal point, managing project HSE issues.
  • Develop and coordinate the HSE team.
  • Provide HSE leadership, advice and support to Project Management.
  • Interface with the Client and manage HSE contractual requirements.
  • Lead HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments and risk management activities.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations.
  • Establish and implement HSE monitoring and audit programmes.
  • Manage subcontractor HSE performance.
  • Support the environmental management team.
  • Ensure regular Project HSE Reviews are undertaken.
  • Prepare and coordinate project HSE close-out reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations, ISO and relevant industry standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will have: 10+ years' experience within HSE, with at least 3 years at HSE Manager level.

Experience working on large-scale engineering, energy, construction or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations.

Experience working to IOGP standards is highly desirable.

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

Tech IOSH or above is preferred.

ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification is desirable.

Strong experience with HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessment and incident investigation.

Proven experience managing HSE teams and subcontractors.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
