The Role of The Project Finance Manager

As a Project Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting senior leadership and driving the financial strategy for major initiatives. You will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and alignment with the organisation's strategic goals. This role is critical to the success of the firm's ongoing transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities of The Project Finance Manager

  • Business Case Support: Validate and challenge financial projections for significant project spend, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing independent quality assurance to senior stakeholders.
  • Ongoing Project Oversight: Monitor budgets, assess financial assumptions, and provide expert advice to project teams, acting as a trusted adviser.
  • Post-Project Analysis: Conduct financial debriefs to identify lessons learned and improve future processes.
  • New Initiatives: Offer technical financial insights and develop compliant solutions for emerging projects.
  • Audit and Compliance: Leverage your audit experience to ensure robust financial controls, identify risks, and maintain compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of project accounting professionals, ensuring consistent expertise across the organisation.

Key Skills and Attributes for The Project Finance Manager

Essential:

Qualified accountant (minimum three years' experience).

Strong project accounting, audit, and Excel modelling skills.

Exceptional organisational and communication abilities.

Confidence, discretion, and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Desirable:

Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE).
