Project Finance Manager - 12 month FTC

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the financial management and reporting of a portfolio of projects, monitoring performance, spend and forecasts against budget.
  • Take responsibility for management accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project financial performance.
  • Support group and financial reporting requirements, providing clear analysis and commentary on performance.
  • Manage project budgeting and forecasting, challenging assumptions and identifying risks and opportunities to financial performance.
  • Oversee project accounting considerations, including revenue recognition, WIP, billing and appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers, finance colleagues and senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight and constructive challenge.
  • Support project-related audit requirements and maintain a strong financial control environment.
  • Prepare financial analysis, reporting and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across finance and the wider business, using financial insight to support effective decision-making.
  • Support continuous improvement in the quality and consistency of project financial reporting and controls.

Skills & Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Strong management accounting experience, including ownership of management accounts and month-end reporting.
  • Experience of group and/or financial reporting within a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting and the financial management of projects.
  • Experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and project profitability/performance.
  • Previous audit experience or a strong audit/financial controls background.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to apply appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Excellent business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful insight and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Previous experience of leadership, supervision or mentoring would be advantageous.
