Summary: The Project Environment Manager will oversee environmental aspects of the Eastern Green Link 2 project, a significant HVDC subsea transmission initiative in the UK. This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing environmental documentation, and leading a team to address environmental issues throughout the project's lifecycle. The position is based in Peterhead, Scotland, and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to promote sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental aspects of project delivery, including chairing environmental meetings.
- Interface with the Employer’s Environmental Team and review environmental documentation.
- Provide guidance on environmental controls and laws to the project team.
- Investigate environmental incidents and manage incident reporting.
- Manage environmental staff and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Monitor and maintain the Project CEMP and report on environmental KPIs.
- Conduct site environmental inspections and audits.
- Develop relationships with local stakeholders and environmental regulators.
- Deliver training activities and maintain environmental databases.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in developing and delivering environmental management systems (EMS) in line with ISO 14001.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and civil engineering industry.
- Experience in training and mentoring environmental staff.
- Degree in Environmental Management or equivalent technical qualification.
- Chartered Environmentalist (Full IEMA) status or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication skills and understanding of digital construction.
