Summary: During this four-year apprenticeship in Project Engineering, you will gain a qualification and hands-on experience in the Engineering field, specifically within Automation. You will work closely with a Mentor and the Project Engineering team to ensure engineering solutions are designed safely and cost-effectively. The role involves various responsibilities, including design assistance, technical documentation preparation, and compliance reviews. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in translating customer requests into design solutions and participate in feasibility reviews.
- Prepare system layouts, general arrangement drawings, site installation packs, and detailed design specifications.
- Review equipment design for standardisation and ensure compliance with legislation and CE norms.
- Support RFQ preparation and contribute to design risk assessments.
- Participate in design and project review meetings, manage project documentation, including H&S files.
- Identify cost-saving and value-added opportunities and collaborate across departments to enhance efficiency.

- Passion for engineering and dedication to studies.
- Enjoyment of mechanical projects, with some work experience being a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive on challenges.

- GCSE grades 4 or above in Maths and English.

You will work as a member of the Project Engineering team to support and provide the necessary engineering detail so that our solutions can be built safely, to all relevant standards, and cost-effectively.
What you'll be handling:
- Design & Feasibility: Assist in translating customer requests into design solutions, participate in feasibility reviews, and ensure value engineering aligns with budget requirements.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare system layouts, general arrangement drawings, site installation packs, and detailed design specifications.
- Equipment & Compliance: Review equipment design for standardisation, assess throughputs and capacities, and ensure compliance with legislation and CE norms.
- Procurement & Risk Management: Support RFQ preparation, review supplier responses, and contribute to design risk assessments.
- Project Support & Collaboration: Participate in design and project review meetings, survey sites, and manage project documentation, including H&S files.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify cost-saving and value-added opportunities, support technical sales, and collaborate across departments to enhance efficiency.
What you'll need:
- Passion for engineering with a strong dedication to studies.
- Enjoys mechanical projects, possibly as a hobby, with some work experience being a plus.
- Thrives on challenges and problem-solving.
