Summary: The Temporary Project Engineer role is a hands-on position focused on supporting the final stages of a major engineering project within a specialist solutions provider. The role requires coordination of engineering activities, procurement, and installation planning, making it ideal for early to mid-career professionals. The position is office-based in Pontefract and is set for an initial 6-month contract. Candidates will work closely with both internal teams and external subcontractors to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the completion of design activities across both electrical and mechanical elements
  • Assisting with procurement of project equipment and subcontracted engineering services
  • Coordinating with subcontractors to ensure design and project deliverables are met
  • Supporting progress reporting and project tracking
  • Assisting with the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for installation activities
  • Supporting planning and coordination of installation work
  • Liaising with internal engineering teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Key Skills:

  • HNC or HND qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Around 5 years’ experience in project engineering within an industrial or engineering environment
  • Experience supporting engineering projects through delivery or installation phases
  • Good organisational and coordination skills
  • Strong communication skills when working with internal teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain project momentum

Salary (Rate): £40.00/hour

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist engineering solutions provider to recruit a Temporary Project Engineer for an initial 6-month contract based in Pontefract.

The business delivers bespoke engineered systems and industrial projects across a range of sectors, covering the full lifecycle from concept and design through to installation and commissioning. Due to increased project activity, they are looking for an additional Project Engineer to support the final stages of a major project.

The Role
This is a hands-on project support role, ideal for an early to mid-career Project Engineer with experience coordinating engineering projects within an industrial or engineering environment.

You will support the engineering team in driving the project through its final stages, assisting with design wrap-up activities, procurement coordination and installation planning.

The role will involve working closely with internal teams as well as external subcontractors to ensure project activities remain on track.
