Summary: The Project Engineer role is a six-month contract focused on managing engineering projects within the heavy manufacturing sector, particularly in mechanical and process engineering. The position requires a skilled individual to oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role is primarily office-based with the option to work from home on Fridays, offering a dynamic work environment. Candidates should possess a strong background in relevant engineering fields and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring all project goals and timelines are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement mechanical and process systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support in the areas of piping, valves, and vessels.
- Develop and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Skids.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
Key Skills:
- Strong mechanical and process engineering background.
- Significant experience in heavy manufacturing, ideally within the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with piping, valves, and vessels.
- Proficiency in developing and reviewing P&IDs and Skids.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
