Summary: The Project Engineer II is responsible for engineering design evaluations and supporting project execution within budget and schedule constraints. This role involves reviewing technical reports, resolving engineering issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The engineer will also assist in contractor selection and may serve as a backup to the Project Manager. The position operates under immediate supervision and adheres to pre-established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents, evaluate bids, and assist in contractor selection.
- Support identification and sourcing of long-lead equipment; provide engineering support through the FEED stage until handoff.
- Coordinate preparation of project phase-gate deliverables.
- Facilitate development of the Functional Interaction Plan.
- Manage the project issue resolution process.
- Coordinate and document project change requests; support the approval process for change authorizations.
- Ensure completion of work scope in alignment with overall Project Objectives.
- Confirm that design and construction activities meet project specifications, standards, and quality expectations.
- Act as liaison between the Project Team and contractors to ensure effective communication.
- Support seamless transitions between project lifecycle phases (FEED to execution, execution to turnover, etc.).
- Provide leadership to the Project Management Team in applying corporate project management systems and best practices.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management.
- Multidisciplinary background with demonstrated experience in engineering design, project controls, and construction oversight.
- Strong understanding of applicable design standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities; adaptable to shifting priorities and timelines.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
