Summary: Airswift is seeking a Project Engineer I for a long-term assignment in Ponca City, OK. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, engineering, and implementation of process instrumentation and control systems.
- Consulting services to process engineers for developing process design specifications.
- Creating operating and training manuals for mechanical and process personnel.
- Writing purchase and construction specifications and participating in Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Specifying, procuring, and configuring Distributed Control Systems and field hardware.
- Utilizing standards from API, ISA, NFPA, and company standards.
- Engineering capital projects including cost estimates and oversight of detailed design.
- Identifying areas for instrumentation/controls improvement in plant operations.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/chemical/mechanical engineering or Associate’s degree in instrumentation technology.
- 5 years’ experience in refining or chemicals industry as an Instrument engineer or 10 years’ experience in process instrumentation design/maintenance.
- TWIC card required.
- Proficient in SAP - PM & PS Modules.
- Proficient in project estimating and project engineering skills.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Projects.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Project Engineer I for a long-term assignment in Ponca City, OK.
- The Instrument Engineer/Specialist is responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of process instrumentation and control systems, from initial conception through to commissioning. This role focuses on creating reliable and cost-effective instrument and control systems.
- In addition to design and engineering responsibilities, the Instrument Engineer/Specialist provides consulting services to process engineers to help develop process design specifications. They also create operating and training manuals for mechanical and process personnel and participate in training the operating staff.
- The Instrument Engineer/Specialist is involved in writing purchase and construction specifications and participates in Factory Acceptance Tests. They are responsible for specifying, procuring, and configuring Distributed Control Systems, as well as field hardware such as transmitters, control valves, and electronic transmission systems.
- To perform these functions, the Instrument Engineer/Specialist utilizes standards from the American Petroleum Institute (API), the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), as well as company standards and practices.
Responsibilities may include:
- Instrumentation and controls capital projects engineering including front-end-loading, cost estimates, specifications and oversight of detailed design.

- Basic/Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/chemical/mechanical engineering and 5 years’ experience in refining or chemicals industry as an Instrument engineer

- 5 years’ experience in refining or chemicals industry
