Summary: The Project Engineer - Body-in-White (BIW) role in Liverpool involves managing and coordinating BIW projects within the automotive engineering sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage BIW engineering projects across various vehicle platforms.
- Coordinate between customer and Engineering to ensure seamless execution of BIW issues.
- Interface with suppliers for tooling, feasibility, and part development activities.
- Monitor and report project milestones, costs, and technical risks; proactively manage issues.
- Support prototype builds, validation testing, and launch activities at manufacturing sites.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal engineering guidelines.
Key Skills:
- 3 years of experience in BIW engineering or structural vehicle body design.
- Solid understanding of automotive body structures, joining techniques (spot welding, laser welding, adhesives), and materials (steel, aluminum, mixed-materials).
- Experience with product development processes (APQP, PPAP, GD&T, DFMEA).
- Strong Engineering Background, good project and communication skills.
- Experience with EV platforms or lightweight body structures (preferred).
- Familiarity with CAE tools and simulation results interpretation (preferred).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (preferred).
