Summary: The Project Controls Manager will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex projects within an international defence company. This position involves leading the implementation and management of project controls measures related to scope, cost, time, risk, and quality. The role requires collaboration with project and programme managers, as well as the development of strong stakeholder relationships. Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be sole UK nationals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish/maintain or adhere to specific PC governance, processes, and procedures across the project.
- Establish the Performance Measurement Baseline position in terms of scope/cost/schedule.
- Manage scheduling staff to develop, manage, revise, and analyse integrated project schedules.
- Provide cost management/change management/risk & opportunity management and document management provision.
- Provide regular management reporting on project status and forecasts.
- Interrogate subcontractor data related to project controls.
- Gather independent evidence to ensure project success criteria are likely to be achieved.
- Integrate and align project control toolsets across contract partnerships.
- Deputise for the Project Manager as necessary.
- Establish a reliable Earned Value Management (EVM) system and generate earned value reports.
- Establish ongoing risk management processes and reporting.
- Support Integrated Baseline Reviews as required.
- Develop and mentor staff for succession planning.
- Maintain key project control documentation and ensure effective configuration control.
- Provide weekly and monthly Project Progress and Metrics Reports.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in project controls on complex/major projects or programmes.
- Knowledge of project controls approaches and practices, including planning/scheduling, cost management, and risk management.
- Experience in applying project controls governance measures.
- Familiarity with project controls toolsets such as MSP/P6, RiskHive, and ERP/SAP systems.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, including external suppliers and customers.
