Summary: The Project Controls Manager role in Bristol involves leading the implementation and management of project controls measures for complex projects within the Mission Systems business area of an international defence company. The position requires collaboration with project and programme managers, as well as stakeholders, to ensure effective decision-making and project success. Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be sole UK nationals. The role is hybrid, allowing for work from home options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain project controls governance, processes, and procedures.
- Manage the Performance Measurement Baseline for scope, cost, and schedule.
- Develop and analyze integrated project schedules.
- Oversee cost management, change management, and risk management activities.
- Provide regular management reporting on project status and forecasts.
- Interrogate subcontractor data related to project controls.
- Establish and maintain an Earned Value Management (EVM) system.
- Conduct regular risk management processes and reporting.
- Develop and mentor project controls staff.
- Maintain key project control documentation and ensure configuration control.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in project controls for complex projects.
- Knowledge of project controls practices (planning, cost, risk management).
- Experience with project controls governance measures.
- Familiarity with project controls toolsets (MSP, P6, ERP/SAP).
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of simplifying complex problems.
