Project Accountant

Summary: The Finance Business Partner – Systems & Projects role involves leading the implementation of a new finance system within a social research organization. The position requires expertise in financial processes and systems, with a focus on improving project financial management and reporting. The role is hybrid and is expected to last for 6-9 months, with an immediate start preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the finance lead on a new system implementation and associated process improvements
• Ensure revenue recognition principles are embedded in both process and system design
• Drive the adoption of standardised PowerBI reporting to improve insights and decision-making
• Collaborate with research teams to improve project financial management and ways of working
• Deliver in-depth financial analysis to support ongoing project delivery and budget optimisation
• Develop process guidance and deliver training to non-finance colleagues
• Support with general data requests and ad hoc duties as required

Key Skills:

• Excel expert with strong data reporting and analysis skills (PowerBI a bonus)
• Clear and persuasive communication with finance and non-finance teams
• Great attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach
