Summary: The Project Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and support the Finance team in delivering a project to upgrade the charity's financial software system. This role involves project management, data migration, user acceptance testing, and the creation of standard operating procedures. The position is based in Epsom and is offered on a one-year fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial software implementation and a strong understanding of charity operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide project management to plan, monitor and report on progress of the project
- Work closely with existing finance team members to understand existing data and processes and establish parameters and requirements for the new system
- Liaise with the support partner to ensure technical support and setup is delivered as required
- Be practically involved in the setup of the new system and migration of data in each phase, performing data mapping and reconciliation as necessary
- Play a key part in the user acceptance testing of the new system, providing feedback and ensuring changes are made as required
- Write standard operating procedures and training materials to support the new system
Key Skills:
- Project management experience, especially with implementation of financial software systems

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role will support the Finance team with the delivery of the project to time and to budget.
Client Details Large Surrey based Charity are looking to recruit a Project Accountant on a 1 year fixed term basis. You will need to have Project management experience, especially with implementation of financial software systems.
Description The charity intends to upgrade its current "on premise" MS 365 Navision finance system to MS 365 Dynamics Business Central in a SaaS based environment. There is an established support partner in placed to provide technical support to the project. Phase 1 of the project involves setting up the new environment and then mapping and migrating the current system data to the new system with careful attention to cut-off and full reconciliations of accounts and TBs as appropriate. Phase 2 will implement the sales invoicing module in Business Central, migrating information from the current MS Access database. Phase 3 will implement the purchase ordering module in Business Central and migrate data from the existing Compleat system to Business Central. Alongside all the phases is the development of PowerBI reporting to facilitate timely, accurate and informed reporting to budget holders, managers and trustees. All phases need to be supported with production of a full suite of clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) and effective training resources for both the finance team and end users.
