Summary: The Interim Project Accountant role in Birmingham involves supporting the Financial Accounting function of a large FTSE-listed business. The position requires an experienced qualified accountant to manage reporting, cashflow models, and IFRS 16 lease accounting in a fast-paced finance team. The role is hybrid, allowing for a blend of on-site and remote work. The successful candidate will leverage their advanced Excel and SAP skills to enhance financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Finance with core reporting and month-end processes.
- Enhance and maintain detailed cashflow models with a focus on accuracy.
- Perform advanced Excel analysis and manage large financial data sets.
- Assist with IFRS 16 lease accounting, including reconciliations and disclosures.
- Deliver timely and accurate account reconciliations across multiple areas.
- Use SAP to extract and analyse financial data.
- Identify and support improvements in reporting and processes.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Strong financial accounting background in a large or complex business.
- Advanced Excel skills; comfortable working with large data sets.
- Good understanding of IFRS 16 lease accounting.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Power BI skills would be a bonus.
