Project Accountant – 12 month FTC

Summary: The Project Accountant role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Barrow-in-Furness, focusing on delivering core project accounting for the Dreadnought Programme. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure financial governance and accurate reporting. Candidates should possess relevant accounting qualifications and experience in project finance, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement of financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver all core project accounting deliverables for the Dreadnought Programme.
• Collaborate with the Dreadnought PMO lead to provide robust forecasts for Monthly Management Reporting.
• Ensure accurate quarterly Contract Status Reports are produced.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and governance activities.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including MOD and finance teams.

Key Skills:

• Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or equivalent.
• Accounting and financial management experience in project finance.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Excel and other MS packages.
• Understanding of business and financial modelling.
• Experience in influencing across functions and hierarchies.
• Experience in a Defence environment is advantageous.
