Summary: The Programme Test Manager will lead a significant Quality Assurance transformation programme for a major organisation, focusing on strategic QA governance across multiple release cycles. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure quality-first principles are embedded within a complex programme. The successful candidate will actively shape QA delivery and influence stakeholders at various levels. The position is hybrid, allowing for flexible remote work options, and is outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA governance across concurrent releases, ensuring quality gates are met through SIT, OAT, Regression, and Live Proving
  • Own programme-wide QA KPIs (test pass rates, defect leakage, stakeholder confidence) and drive continuous improvement
  • Align QA strategy, tooling, and delivery cadence with client-side stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Facilitate escalations and risk mitigation with clear governance reporting
  • Act as the QA lead at programme boards, retrospectives, service reviews
  • Support Test Managers and Leads across planning, execution, and reporting cycles
  • Leave behind scalable QA frameworks, reporting models, and governance structures

  • Proven track record as a hands-on QA leader, not a passive status reporter
  • Brings clarity, structure, and urgency to complex, ambiguous programmes
  • Able to operate credibly across both technical teams and senior leadership
  • Confident presenting real-time insights and influencing delivery decisions
  • Skilled in embedding repeatable and scalable QA governance frameworks
  • Experience with tools such as qTest, Jira, Xray, Allure Reports, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Git, Gradle, NeoLoad, JMeter, BlazeMeter, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube, Burp Suite, SQLMap, Nmap, Lighthouse, Selenium, Playwright, Serenity BDD, Cucumber, Postman, REST Assured
  • Exposure to TestGPT, Testim, TestSigma is a bonus

Programme Test Manager – Contract (Outside IR35) Location: Glasgow, Edinburgh (Hybrid working – flexible remote options) Duration: August 2025 to July 2026 (with potential 12-month extension) Security Clearance: BPSS required - Work Visa's can not be sponsored

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Programme Test Manager to lead a flagship Quality Assurance transformation programme for a major organisation.
