Summary: The Programme Manager (maternity cover) will support the implementation of Good Neighbours UK’s strategy, ensuring effective management of projects in collaboration with field countries. This role involves project management, programme development, and safeguarding responsibilities, with a focus on building relationships with funders and partners. The position is a full-time fixed-term role for 8 months starting in January 2025, with consideration for freelance contracts. Excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support fundraising team in preparing funding proposals for UK and overseas projects.
  • Conduct field/needs assessments for projects.
  • Ensure collaboration between programmes and finance teams for timely budget and logframe development.
  • Manage due diligence and MoUs with implementing partners.
  • Oversee implementation and monitoring of overseas projects, ensuring activity plans and risk registers are in place.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditure, and prepare periodic narrative and financial reports.
  • Contribute to the development of GNUK’s mid to long term strategy and annual work plans.
  • Act as Safeguarding focal point and prepare annual safeguarding reports.
  • Support the rollout of GNUK’s marketing/communications strategy.
  • Liaise with external organisations to deliver GNUK’s projects.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Capacity building experience for grants and programmes staff.

  • Familiarity with the economic, social, and political context affecting NGO work in the UK.
