Programme Manager Associate Consultant

We are searching for an exceptional Programme Manager to join our network of professional associate consultants. This is a freelance opportunity to work with Delafeld Partners and our clients on a project-by-project basis (outside of IR35). Projects typically range from 3 to 18 months, where you will be placed as an interim or fractional expert to help our clients improve the performance of their technology teams and deliver complex digital initiatives. You will focus on providing specialist expertise and/or senior transformational leadership and strategic advisory to help companies align technology with business growth. Delafeld Partners associates must be able to operate seamlessly as both hands-on delivery contractors and trusted strategic consultants - combining practical execution with the ability to advise, challenge, and guide stakeholders at all levels.

About the Role

As a Programme Manager, you will work with Delafeld Partners’ clients to deliver high-impact transformation initiatives. Assignments may include:

• Leading large-scale technology and digital transformation programmes across multiple workstreams
• Stabilising or recovering underperforming programmes and re-establishing delivery confidence
• Establishing programme structures, governance, and delivery frameworks from inception
• Leading multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes
• Translating strategic objectives into executable programme roadmaps with clear outcomes

Projects vary widely across sectors and often support organisations at critical moments of transformation, requiring pace, clarity, and strong leadership. Delafeld Partners’ associates are trusted to bring clarity, leadership and delivery focus to complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex transformation programmes aligned to measurable business outcomes
• Leading multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes
• Establish governance covering planning, reporting, risk, and stakeholder alignment
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver integrated programme outcomes
• Remove delivery blockers and stabilise performance in challenging environments
• Translate strategy into prioritised roadmaps with clear accountability
• Advise senior stakeholders with insight, challenge, and delivery clarity

Experience & Expertise

We are looking for experienced professionals who bring a strong track record in their field. Typical backgrounds include:

• Proven delivery of large-scale technology or digital transformation programmes
• Strong experience engaging and influencing senior and executive stakeholders
• Expertise in Programme governance, planning, and risk management
• Track record of stabilising or accelerating complex delivery environments
• Experience across technology, product, data, and operational domains
• Ability to combine hands-on delivery with strategic advisory leadership
