About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and innovative Programme Manager to spearhead critical projects within the utilities sector. This exciting opportunity lies within the Major Programme Delivery (MPD) function of the organisation's Transformation & Major Projects Directorate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that major initiatives are executed to the highest standards, aligning with strategic objectives and setting robust delivery standards that enhance governance and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Developing comprehensive project plans and schedules while managing dependencies and critical paths.
  • Organising resources and managing project team members, assigning individual responsibilities.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and third-party contractors to ensure seamless delivery of tasks.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Preparing and delivering project reports, proposals, and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Engaging effectively with all key stakeholders through clear and appropriate communication.
  • Tracking project costs to ensure completion within the approved budget.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet required standards for time, quality, and cost.

Qualifications: Essential qualifications include:

  • Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 (highly desirable).
  • Proven experience in project management or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (eg, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (eg, Microsoft Project).
