Programme Manager

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised leader in global health research and education. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Manager to lead the strategic and operational development of a newly funded international network focused on extending malaria prevention to school-aged children. This is a unique opportunity to shape an ambitious global initiative at the intersection of public health, education, and development. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in governance, partnership development, funding coordination, and communication across a diverse network of collaborators.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership and programme delivery
• Establish governance structures and support network strategy
• Oversee programme planning, evaluation, and coordination
• Develop sustainable funding strategies and represent the network externally
• Funding and partnerships
• Coordinate proposal development and donor engagement
• Manage funder relationships and reporting
• Develop contracts and manage key partner relationships
• Operations and risk management
• Monitor progress, budgets, and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Communications and engagement
• Lead the network’s communications strategy, including website and outputs
• Produce reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products
• Organise events and stakeholder meetings (virtual and in-person)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field
• Fluency in English and French
• Strong track record managing complex international programmes
• Experience in global health, malaria, education, or development
• Success in fundraising and donor engagement
• Experience working with partners in LMICs, ideally in Africa
• Familiarity with policy engagement and communications strategies
