Summary: The Programme Manager role is a 6-month contract position within a global aerospace manufacturer based in Derby, focusing on project management capabilities, personal influence, and technical competence. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining project scopes, managing risks, and ensuring stakeholder alignment while promoting project management principles. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate complex project environments effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to effectively define the scope of each project & obtain stakeholder buy-in
  • Able to manage multiple issues at any time to maintain good momentum
  • Able to laterally see the work breakdown structure within the project
  • Strongly manage the correct level of project governance required
  • Clearly understands the importance of continual risk assessment & management
  • Manage risk and implement mitigation plans where required to maintain schedule
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify the critical path & set the milestone priority order
  • Lead regular NPDI project progress reviews and lessons learnt activities
  • Capable of becoming an expert on the project and therefore be the point of reference
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with NPDI commitments
  • Monitor project performance using KPIs & provide regular reports to stakeholders
  • Positively promotes PM principles and their application
  • Act as primary point of contact for progress, risk and changes
  • Professionally influence stakeholders & manage their concerns
  • Demonstrates agility in changing circumstances whilst respecting conflicting processes
  • Support Commercial/Business by providing inputs to bid resource planning
  • Able to be creative in planning & unafraid to challenge the status quo
  • Creation and management of NPDI schedules and resource allocations
  • Demonstrates strong technical ability to add value to the subject matter
  • Able to offer alternative technical solutions without compromising delivery of the project
  • Demonstrates sound technical knowledge across multiple manufacturing processes
  • Able to anticipate technical issues whilst scoping out the project and identifying risks
  • Proven experience in programme management within the aerospace industry
  • Effective application of the ‘EHS Model’ to create a safe environment to operate in
