Summary: The Programme Manager for the Coastal Lifeboat Programme at RNLI will oversee the rollout of a new coastal lifeboat, bridging the gap between inshore and offshore fleets. This role involves managing risks, defining project scope, and ensuring stakeholder engagement while delivering the programme within set parameters. The successful candidate will lead strategic changes and enhance the organization's search and rescue capabilities. This position is critical in supporting RNLI's mission to save lives at sea through effective programme management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning major risks through early identification, management, and resolution.
- Defining scope and planning delivery of the programme, managing dependencies across all projects.
- Owning the programme’s business case from development to realisation.
- Defining and tracking the programme’s benefits, ensuring they are agreed, owned, and realised.
- Leading the organisation through strategic change covering business, process, and technology.
- Engaging and managing stakeholders, developing effective engagement strategies.
- Maintaining strong governance throughout the programme lifecycle.
Key Skills:
- Programme Management qualification such as Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
- Project certification e.g. PRINCE2, APM.
- Significant practical experience delivering large cross-functional organisational programmes.
- Strong programme leadership skills and experience in driving cross-organisation improvement.
- Experience in leading, managing, and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in change leadership and delivering projects across diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and negotiate at the highest level.
- Experience managing performance against budgets and organisational strategies.
