Summary: Our client, a leading utilities organisation, is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join their Programme Delivery team within the Transformation and Major Projects division. The role involves managing a programme within the NESO portfolio, focusing on initiation and recovery to ensure successful delivery. Key responsibilities include planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication, with flexibility in working arrangements available. The position is suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants, based in Wokingham or Warwick.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and maintenance of the Programme Plan, providing regular progress reports
- Designing and leading the programme's governance arrangements, ensuring high-quality materials for programme and executive governance
- Managing the programme's budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits
- Allocating skills and resources to individual workstreams
- Ensuring delivery of products and services meet the required standards of quality, time, and budget
- Managing communications with stakeholders and contributing to the Communications Plan
- Managing dependencies and interfaces between projects
- Identifying and managing risks and issues at a programme level, collaborating closely with third-party partners, the IT team, and other key stakeholders
- Overseeing the holistic delivery of business change, including changes to people, processes, and technology
- Managing an effective Programme Management Office
- Reporting programme progress at regular intervals
- Acting as the first point of escalation for Contract Management of the primary third-party delivery partner
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering transformational change in strategically focused projects
- Experience delivering change in operationally critical environments
- Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling programmes
- Proficiency in budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Ability to work with and challenge senior executive stakeholders when required
