Summary: The Programme Engineering Manager will oversee mission-critical product development within the Power business, focusing on bespoke military power supplies. This role requires hands-on leadership in engineering execution, ensuring timely delivery of engineering deliverables while managing quality, schedule, and cost constraints. The successful candidate will act as a Technical Project Manager, coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering activities and problem-solving effectively. Strong communication and engineering leadership skills are essential for navigating stakeholder relationships and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning of Engineering work packages and managing risk to push the programme forward.
- Developing visual management techniques to track and drive execution rhythm.
- Progress reporting to the Programme, Business, and Leadership Team.
- Supporting Engineers and interfacing with other functions within the programme team.
- Liaising with Programme Design Authority and Chief Engineer for technical integrity.
- Managing risks and changes for all Engineering deliverables.
- Motivating and coaching Engineering team members.
- Mentoring engineers for technical leadership and execution discipline.
Key Skills:
- Experience in leading mission-critical electronic product design and qualification programmes.
- Ability to transition products to manufacture and provide manufacturing support.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for stakeholder navigation.
- Proven engineering leadership in a matrix organisation.
- Autonomous, resilient, and results-oriented approach.
