Summary: The Production Test Engineer role is a 12-month contract position based in Stevenage, focusing on providing test engineering support for complex electrical and electronic systems within a leading Defence and Aerospace company. The position requires expertise in testing down to component level and involves generating test specifications and supporting quality assurance processes. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a dynamic and growing environment. This role is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor
  • Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies, and circuit cards down to component level
  • Generating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports based on higher-level requirements and information
  • Identifying remedial and corrective actions
  • Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations

Key Skills:

  • A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and associated equipment down to component level
  • Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration, and test principles
  • An understanding of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level
  • An understanding of Environmental testing (including ESS)
  • Manual handling training
  • ESD training

As the Production Test Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

  • Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor
  • Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies, and circuit cards down to component level
  • Generating test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports - based on higher-level requirements and information
