Summary: The Production Test Engineer will support testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards during the production phase. This role involves providing technical support to ensure manufacturing targets are met within time, cost, and quality requirements. The position is contract-based for 12 months and requires BPSS clearance. The role is primarily on-site in Bolton, with a minimum of three days required on-site each week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment.
• Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
• Generating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports – based on higher-level requirements and information.
• Promptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with the programme, following production test failures.
• Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.

Key Skills:

• Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
• Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques.
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
• Ability to plan and organise one’s work according to assigned priorities.
• Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level (advantageous).
• Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment (advantageous).
