Summary: The Production Technician role involves performing mechanical repairs and overhauls on wheelsets and bogies within a rolling stock depot, primarily for the Thames Link Project. Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake overhaul, modifications, and repair of allocated wheelsets/bogies components.
- Assist team members with bogie and wheelset overhauls to develop technical skills.
- Identify, order, and collect spares and materials from stores.
- Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required.
- Support completion of repairs, modifications, and overhauls within a rolling stock depot.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering or process environment.
- Basic fault-finding skills.
- Ability to complete records of actions and operations accurately.
- Understanding of tools, equipment, and PPE care.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations including COSHH.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to interpret technical publications.
- Capability to produce detailed analytical technical reports.
