Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform safe operation of rivet manufacturing equipment including heat-treatment, plating, sorting, and collation processes.
  • Comply with company work procedures and instructions at all times.
  • Regularly monitor production to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance (TPM checks) and support breakdown maintenance as required.
  • Work closely with the team leader and lead operator to ensure production meets agreed deadlines.
  • Use overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to highlight potential issues and support improvement activities.
  • Liaise closely with colleagues on the status of machines, maintenance, and quality issues.
  • Maintain daily production, maintenance, and quality records.
  • Use a forklift truck or ped op for the transfer of raw materials from stores to the production area.
  • Promote a safe work area by carrying out regular housekeeping duties.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Company.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment and ability to follow work instructions/specifications.
  • Previous experience of visual inspection for cosmetic defects is advantageous.
  • A qualification in an engineering capacity (NVQ, HNC, HND) is an advantage.
  • Forklift truck licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Good team player with experience in contributing to a team environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Reliable with a proven attendance record.
