Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Engineering Group Lead to join our esteemed pharmaceutical company at our Saitama Site. Reporting directly to the Head of Saitama Site, you will lead and manage a team to provide technical services for projects and engineering tasks related to dosage form production and packaging. As a member of the site leadership team, you will play a crucial role in realizing the Saitama site strategy and fostering the growth of our team members.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Rollout the strategy and goals of the Saitama site and Technical Service department into actionable group strategies and targets. Lead and manage the group to achieve these targets.
- Resource Management: Control and manage resources and capabilities to deliver production engineering projects. Oversee OPEX, CAPEX, and Head Count budgets to meet goals.
- Project Management: Lead and/or manage Dosage Form & Packaging projects and technical transfer of new products. Oversee maintenance, calibration, renewal, and repairment work for Dosage Form & Packaging lines.
- Process Improvement: Enhance Dosage Form & Packaging processes and equipment for better efficiency and HSE. Develop and design packaging materials and artwork.
- Team Development: Cultivate the next generation of technical leaders and enhance the group's leadership and technical skills. Foster connections within the company both locally and globally.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and manage them effectively.
Operational Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to achieve operational objectives.
- Oversee daily factory operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with other leaders to optimize workflows and resource allocation.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Set clear expectations and goals for team members.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
- Lead Saitama projects as a project leader.
Strategic Planning and Decision-Making
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for the factory.
- Make informed and timely decisions to address challenges and opportunities.
- Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to align factory goals with overall organizational objectives.
Education & Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: At least 5 years in process development or production line engineering in the pharmaceutical industry. Team leading experience is required, preferably with people management experience.

- Process Development: Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, raw materials, and packaging materials in the pharma industry.
- Quality System and Regulation Management: Deep knowledge of GxPs and relevant regulations, including skills to maintain product and execution quality.
- Sustainability and Efficiency: Ability to consider sustainability and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
