Summary: The Production Controller is responsible for managing customer orders and ensuring the efficient flow of work to meet product delivery schedules and costs. This role involves utilizing SAP and P6 for production control, maintaining production schedules, and facilitating interdepartmental cost-saving initiatives. The position requires a focus on prioritizing tasks and improving production support processes within a high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and scheduling within industries such as aerospace and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load customer order demand into production and manage work orders in SAP.
  • Ensure kits/work orders are released to AIT on time and expedite them to meet planned delivery dates.
  • Input into and maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain the 'live' status of products in AIT production flows.
  • Support manufacturing area manager with work center forecasts.
  • Create and review the status of work orders in their product remit.
  • Manage material supply issues to avoid delivery slippages.
  • Timely release of purchase requisitions and ensure full traceability for all products issued to manufacturing.
  • Monitor drawing release activity and adherence to production schedules.
  • Report delays, investigate impacts, and ensure projects are charged for changes to schedule/effort.
  • Input and maintain production data required by the company stock control tool.
  • Effectively report product status to core project and manufacturing teams.
  • Analyze and report potential impacts from 'Shortage Risk Reports' and propose solutions.
  • Investigate customer orders and notify project management of non-conformance.
  • Manage material transfers to satisfy project/company demand, focusing on ITAR/IPR & EEE items.
  • Support shipments from AIT in accordance with LDS.0096.
  • Advise on kit issues/anomalies and ensure kits are picked as identified on the 'kit shortage report'.
  • Engage in continuous self-development of production scheduling tools and AIT processes.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MRP and scheduling.
  • Planning/scheduling qualification.
  • 3 years of experience using an MRP/ERP system.
  • 3 years of experience using SAP.
  • 2 years of experience in planning and schedule management.
  • Ability to deliver results against schedule milestones with high quality.
  • Critical path analysis and schedule control.
  • Planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Workload management and clear communication at all levels.
  • Customer relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with detailed knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of P6 and previous background in telecommunications is desirable.
  • Understanding of Kanban and business systems.
  • Previous experience in scheduling/planning and security clearance to SC level is a plus.
