Summary: The Product Test Engineer will join the Vehicle Safety Test Laboratories team at a Luxury Automotive OEM in Gaydon, focusing on conducting physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles to meet Passive Safety targets. The role involves collaboration with customers to utilize data for engineering development and compliance evidence. The engineer will manage tests using modern equipment and produce timely reports. This position is offered on a long-term rolling contract basis with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical destructive testing on components, systems, and vehicles to meet Passive Safety targets.
• Collaborate with customers to utilize data for engineering development and compliance evidence.
• Translate regulation and requirement test protocols, manage tests through to completion, and produce test reports on time.

Key Skills:

• Experience of physical testing in a laboratory.
• Working knowledge of passive safety regulations and requirements, including FMVSS and ECE.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems (e.g., force, displacement, acceleration).
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Motorsport, Aerospace, Physics).
• Previous experience of working in a vehicle safety test laboratory, using rigs, sleds, or whole vehicle crash testing.
