Summary: The role of Product SME – Marketing & Trading Systems involves supporting the operational environment of a Marketing and Trading platform within a global enterprise system. The position serves as a critical link between business users and Information Systems & Digital, focusing on stability, security, and continuous improvement in trading operations. The candidate will engage in troubleshooting, incident management, and collaboration with regional teams to enhance platform operations. A strong understanding of trading technologies and regulatory frameworks is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a focal point for M&T business users, supporting daily operations across trading systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with a focus on minimizing business impact.
- Collaborate with regional teams (London and Aberdeen) to deliver stable and secure platform operations.
- Engage in Incident, Change, and Problem Management using ITIL processes.
- Implement continuous improvements in real-time support and operational efficiency.
- Align operations with regulatory frameworks, including EMIR and REMIT.
- Provide insight and support across trading platforms and data feeds.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of real-time markets, liquidity, positions, and exposures.
- Familiarity with M&T platforms such as Trayport, WebICE, Aspect, and EgssPort.
- Experience with trade execution systems in the oil and gas sector.
- Strong understanding of front-office trading technology and the end-to-end oil and gas trading lifecycle.
- Technical expertise across: Databases: Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL, NoSQL.
- Operating Systems: Windows.
- Understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit requirements in trading environments.
- Ability to work with global teams in a cross-regional setup.
- Desirable Skills: ITIL certification or practical ITIL experience.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and third-party vendor management.
- Analytical capabilities to assess and optimize product and process performance.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and open-source tools.
- Exposure to market data feeds (e.g., FIS Market Maps Energy).
