Product Procurement Engineer

Summary: The Product Procurement Engineer role in Peterlee is a fully onsite position focused on managing part development and quality feedback loops for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI). The engineer will collaborate with suppliers and various functional teams to implement product supply strategies and drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE). Candidates should have around 5 years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly with APQP, PPAP, and supplier management. This is a twelve-month contract role with an inside IR35 classification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage part development and quality feedback loops for NPI, CPI, and NSI activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers, design control engineers, and procurement category teams.
• Oversee Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and cost management activities.
• Implement product supply strategies aligned with category management supply strategies.
• Manage quality feedback loops to apply lessons learned on quality defects across the supply base.
• Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modelling and design for manufacturability.

Key Skills:

• Degree or equivalent experience desired.
• Extensive experience in supplier management and product development.
