Summary: The role of Product Owner involves taking ownership of specific product areas, focusing on delivering incremental value and ensuring high-quality outcomes for customers and stakeholders. The position requires balancing strategic input with day-to-day delivery while managing the product backlog and facilitating agile ceremonies. The successful candidate will work closely with delivery teams to implement product changes and maintain a well-prioritized backlog. This is a hands-on contract position for 12 months, requiring a hybrid working pattern with two days on-site each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Owning and managing the product backlog, ensuring priorities are clear and value-driven
- Defining clear, well-structured user stories that meet customer and business needs
- Supporting and facilitating agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives
- Providing input into the wider product vision and roadmap
- Owning product change governance and business readiness activities, including testing, training and communications
- Providing regular progress updates to senior and key stakeholders
- Implementing development frameworks within your product area and coaching others where needed
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve processes and support strategic objectives
- Keeping an external perspective to ensure the product proposition remains best-in-class

You’ll be responsible for delivering incremental value, ensuring high-quality outcomes for customers and stakeholders, and working closely with delivery teams to bring product changes to life. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance strategic input with day-to-day delivery, playing a key part in shaping product direction while maintaining a well-prioritised backlog.
