Summary: The Product Owner role involves acting as a liaison between IT development groups and business units to facilitate the development and implementation of new systems and enhancements. The position requires regular on-site presence while also allowing for hybrid working arrangements. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring software development projects align with customer needs and adhere to agile methodologies. This contract position is based in Guildford and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new applications, system requirements, and evolving business needs to recommend solutions.
  • Use specialized knowledge to solve complex problems and direct daily activities of support teams.
  • Establish priorities for task completion and interpret internal and external issues.
  • Direct resources, prioritize tasks, and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Serve as an agile product owner to ensure software projects deliver maximum value.
  • Drive analysis and validation to determine necessary data to support business needs.
  • Coordinate efforts with staff, vendors, and customers to design data architecture and solutions.
  • Support the definition of road maps and portfolios reflecting business strategy.
  • Lead the development of processes including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
  • Deliver customized reports and recommendations for business decisions.
  • Establish strong relationships with teams across the business.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Scrum Product Owner certification preferred.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and flexibility in a changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly across functional and technical departments.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Expertise in understanding new technologies and their functions.
  • Stakeholder management skills for facilitating change delivery.
