Summary: The Product Owner role focuses on leading the development of data dormancy products that comply with global data privacy regulations within a globally recognized organization. This position involves collaboration across various teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable product features while ensuring adherence to privacy laws. The role offers a unique opportunity to impact privacy and data governance significantly. The working arrangement is hybrid, allowing flexibility between office and home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with legal and compliance teams to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable product features.
- Define Product Features: Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications to ensure that both business and legal requirements are fully addressed.
- Set Product Vision & Strategy: Develop and communicate a compelling product vision, roadmap, and strategy that aligns with business objectives, all while effectively managing stakeholder expectations.
- Prioritize Product Backlog: Manage the product backlog, prioritizing features based on business value and urgency to maximize impact.
- Governance & Stakeholder Engagement: Own governance processes and engage stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparent communication, and timely delivery.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to global data privacy laws such as GDPR, CPRA, COPPA, and more.
- Risk Assessment & Solutions: Evaluate the impact of evolving privacy regulations on current and future products and provide actionable recommendations.
- Foster a Data-Driven Culture: Promote a “test and learn” approach to product development to drive innovation and optimize outcomes.
Key Skills:
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in product management, especially in data-driven environments.
- Privacy & Security Knowledge: Minimum of 2 years working with privacy laws, data governance, and security practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Proven experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, COPPA) and their implementation in large-scale organizations.
- Track Record of Success: Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to launch, consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply complex privacy regulations to product development.
- Excellent Communication: Clear communication skills, able to convey privacy concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Media or Entertainment: Knowledge of the media or entertainment industry is a plus but not essential.
