Location: North West UK Overview: Novus Strategy and Consulting is working closely with our client, a leading organisation in its field, to find an experienced and hands-on Product Owner (PO) who will guide and lead the entire product journey from inception to delivery. This is a contract role that requires someone who can take full ownership of the product lifecycle, manage its continuous evolution, and mentor a junior Product Owner to enhance their skills and impact. The ideal candidate will be both a skilled practitioner and a leader, capable of navigating the complexities of product development while focusing on building exceptional customer-centric products. Key Responsibilities: Lead the product journey from the early-stage product delivery, ensuring a seamless experience at every stage and aligning with broader business goals. Own and manage the product backlog, prioritise features based on business value, customer needs, and strategic vision, while ensuring alignment throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to define product requirements, create user stories, and deliver a high-quality product that meets user needs and business objectives. Guide the team through development cycles, focusing on continuous improvement, rapid prototyping, and refining the product based on feedback. Serve as a mentor to a more junior Product Owner, coaching them through the product journey, providing guidance on best practices, backlog management, and decision-making to ensure their development and success. Ensure the product vision is effectively communicated and understood by all stakeholders, ensuring alignment and focus throughout the process. Collect and analyse product performance data, market insights, and customer feedback to enhance and evolve the product, ensuring it continues to meet market demands. Drive the development of roadmaps that map the entire product journey, balancing short-term delivery goals with long-term strategic outcomes. Be the voice of the customer at all stages of development, ensuring that user feedback is always integrated into the product refinement process. Key Requirements: Proven experience as a hands-on Product Owner with a minimum of 4 years of experience in managing the full product journey. Strong understanding of agile methodologies and the ability to drive product development cycles efficiently. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse teams and stakeholders throughout the product journey. Experience in mentoring and coaching junior Product Owners, providing guidance in prioritization, product strategy, and delivery. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and user insights to guide product decisions and continuously enhance the product. Familiarity with tools such as Azure Dev Ops or similar.
