Summary: The Procurement Systems & Compliance Lead will oversee the implementation and support of a new e-procurement system (Ivalua) within a major transformation program in the UK energy sector. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, guiding procurement practices, and fostering user adoption. The position is critical as the organization transitions to independence, with a focus on embedding best practices in procurement. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping compliance frameworks for a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Ivalua - manage upgrades, testing, and first-line support.
  • Drive compliance with PA23 and other regulations, supporting audits and governance frameworks.
  • Maintain conflict-of-interest processes and establish a Centre of Excellence risk register.
  • Provide guidance and training to buyers (30-40 across multiple categories).
  • Champion continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
  • Support performance improvement projects and policy updates.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (PA23, UCR, Competition Law, Modern Slavery, etc.).

Key Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with e-procurement systems (Ivalua preferred; Coupa/SAP/Oracle acceptable).
  • Strong knowledge of regulated procurement and governance frameworks.
  • Practical experience in system testing, configuration, and process design.
  • Ability to lead compliance initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • PA23 government training (9 modules).
  • Background in public sector or regulated environments.
  • MCIPS qualification (Nice to have).
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.

About the Role

We're looking for a Procurement Systems & Compliance Lead to join a major transformation programme in the UK energy sector. This is a pivotal role where you'll take ownership of a new e-procurement system (Ivalua), ensuring smooth rollout, user adoption, and ongoing support. Alongside this, you'll lead compliance and governance initiatives, embedding best practice across procurement and guiding buyers through complex regulatory requirements. You'll be joining at an exciting time as the organisation transitions to full independence, with a hard deadline for delivery. Your expertise will help shape procurement systems and compliance frameworks that underpin a cleaner, more sustainable future.
