Summary: The Procurement Support Manager role focuses on supporting high-value pre-contract procurement activities within construction and civils sectors for a leading organization. The position involves collaborating with senior procurement leads to shape sourcing strategies and influence commercial decisions on major infrastructure projects. The contract is for six months, requiring a mix of site-based and remote work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in large-scale projects and a solid understanding of commercial models and risk strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of construction & civils category strategies
- Shape sourcing approaches, commercial models, and risk strategies
- Develop and challenge cost models to drive value for money
- Produce optioneering, scenario analysis, and business case inputs
- Engage suppliers and Tier 1 contractors to support negotiations
- Collaborate across engineering, commercial, legal, and delivery teams
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in large-scale construction, civils, or infrastructure projects
- Solid commercial knowledge (NEC/JCT, cost, risk, delivery models)
- Confident communicator across multidisciplinary teams
- Structured, proactive, and comfortable in fast-moving environments
- Experience with business cases and early-stage commercial strategy
- MCIPS, MRICS, or equivalent experience desirable
