• Project planning and management
• Supporting savings proposal development
• Engaging with suppliers and service areas to develop procurement approaches
• Mentoring and providing support to Trainee Procurement Specialists and apprentices
• Ensuring compliance with Contract Standing Orders and relevant legislation
• Leading the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors
• Promoting good procurement practices, including sustainability and ethical standards
• Reporting on progress to senior management
• Identifying and managing risks and issues
• Undertaking contract handover processes
• Contributing to the preparation of committee and waiver reports
• Deputising for Senior Procurement Specialists
• Performing any other appropriate duties associated with the role
