Summary: The Procurement Specialist role involves supporting strategic sourcing activities and managing contracts for a high-profile railway client in the West Midlands. The position requires expertise in NEC 4 Contracts and aims to ensure compliance with procurement regulations while delivering value for money. The role is contract-based, offering a competitive daily rate. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve procurement objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support strategic sourcing activities to identify suppliers and delivery partners in line with procurement policies.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts and amendments to meet business requirements.
- Advise stakeholders on best practices for obtaining value for money and quality goods/services.
- Interface with external lawyers regarding contract matters.
- Manage supplier accountability and contract delivery through robust management.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage the tender process timeline and communications with bidders.
Key Skills:
- Experience with regulated procurement, particularly Procurement Act 2023 and Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016.
- Leading strategic capital procurement projects for the public sector.
- Strong background in tender preparation, development, and negotiation.
- Extensive experience with NEC3 and NEC4 ECC Contracts.
- Cross-sector experience with a strong public procurement background.
- Achieved or working towards MCIPs accreditation.
- Degree related to construction, civil engineering, or quantity surveying preferred.
- Experience in Utilities and Infrastructure sectors is desirable.
