Summary: The Procurement Officer role involves managing customer repairs and spares procurement for internal project teams on a 6-month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. The position requires on-site presence in Stevenage for 1-2 days a week and involves using SAP for procurement processes. The role is classified as inside IR-35 and requires SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing electronic and manual requisitions for purchasing.
  • Using SAP to raise requests for quotations (RFQ).
  • Creating Excel spreadsheets to assess data for supplier selection.
  • Raising purchase orders within SAP and progressing orders for timely delivery.
  • Amending purchase orders based on changing delivery forecasts.
  • Maintaining communication with internal customers regarding delivery forecasts.
  • Holding and supporting business operational reviews.
  • Liaising with Bought Ledger and vendors to resolve invoice queries.
  • Data cleansing in SAP for accurate data collection.
  • Quality assessment and measurement of suppliers.
  • Distributing monthly reports to vendors with correct reason codes.

Key Skills:

  • Proactive approach and flexible self-starter.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Educated to basic secondary level (Maths, English to O level/GCSE/NVQ as a minimum).
  • Effective communication skills for maintaining relations with internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in procurement.

Detailed Description From Employer:

Our client has an opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join them on a contract basis for 6 months, with possibility for extension. You will be responsible for the management of customer repairs and spares procurement based upon the requests made by internal project teams.

Role: Procurement Officer

Location: Stevenage (On site 1/2 days a week)

Rate: Up to £27/hour via umbrella (Inside IR-35)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension - 9 Months)

Clearence: SC (BPSS Required to start)

NOTE: UK Eyes only due to projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing Responsibilities include processing of electronic and manual requisitions.
  • Use of SAP to raise request for quotations (RFQ)
  • Creating Excel spread sheets to assess the data to aid supplier selection process.
  • Raising of purchase orders within SAP.
  • Progressing of orders to ensure on time delivery to the internal customers.
  • Purchase order amendment in line with changing delivery forecasts post order acknowledgment.
  • Maintain dialogue with internal customer to ensure topical delivery forecast are maintained.
  • Holding & supporting business operational reviews
  • Administration
  • Liaise with both Bought Ledger and vendors to resolve Invoice queries and enable timely and accurate payments.
  • Data cleansing of SAP to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Quality assessment and measurement of suppliers.
  • Distribution of monthly reports to vendors and ensuring correct reason codes are annotated, enabling accurate reports for delivery and quality purposes.

Skillet/experience required:

  • Proactive approach flexible self-starter
  • IT Literate - Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word; Power Point; Excel; Outlook) to a proficient level. (A working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.)
  • Education: Educated to basic secondary level: (Maths, English to O level/GCSE/NVQ as a minimum)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain good relations with both internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines in a professional manner
  • Extensive hands-on experience in procurement required.
